Hyderabad: Gold medallist arrested for burglary

The police seized 800 gm gold, Rs 1.5 lakh cash from the accused M. Vamshi Krishna and remanded him to judicial custody.

Hyderabad: A gold medallist in post-graduation, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, has been a burglar for the last 13 years and was finally arrested by the Cyberabad central crime station police on Wednesday. The police seized 800 gm gold, Rs 1.5 lakh cash from the accused M. Vamshi Krishna and remanded him to judicial custody.

The accused identified as MikkilIi Vamshi Krishna, 39, a native of Vetapalem village in Prakasham district of AP, finished his post graduation in 2004. He was the topper of his batch in MBA and received a gold medal from Thangavelu University at Chennai.

Soon after the PG, Vamshi started committing burglaries. He was first arrested in 2006 by Saroornagar police. In the last 13 years, Vamshi spent five years in jail.
