Water metro consultant by month end
The project is expected to complete in 2019, and the first set of boats is likely to be bought by the end of 2018.
KOCHI: The Kochi Metro Rail Limited will appoint the general consultant for the German bank KfW funded Rs 740 crore Water Metro project by the end of this month. The technical evaluation of the three shortlisted consortiums has been completed, according to KMRL officials. The KfW Board will approve the consultant by this week itself. The three agencies which were shortlisted are ‘AECOM consortium’, Egis consortium and Inros Lackner Se consortium.
The General Consultant will be responsible for planning and construction, supervision for finalisation of routes, the study on the type of boats to be purchased and construction of new boat jetties. The project is expected to complete in 2019, and the first set of boats is likely to be bought by the end of 2018.
