Raids at Shirdi Sai Electricals continue in Kadapa, Hyderabad

Anantapur: Raids by the Telangana IT wing continued at the Shirdi Sai Electricals located in the industrial area of Kadapa on Tuesday. Three teams were conducting the raids since Monday with security cover from the CRPF.

The Shirdi Sai Electricals is a manufacturer of electrical goods. It had won, among other things, a contract for fixing smart meters to the agriculture electricity connections in farms across AP.

The industries department had allotted 52 acres of land closer to RIMS in the Industrial area in Kadapa. The Shirdi Sai Electricals also has an office in Hyderabad.

Sources said the IT wing of Telangana were conducting the raids on the main office and industrial area of the Shirdi Sai Electricals located closer to its Kadapa headquarters and simultaneously at its office in Hyderabad.

About 40 members of the IT department along with CRPF security drawn from Hyderabad reached Kadapa on Monday and started the raids. “About 50 CRPF personnel were brought from Hyderabad for security during the raids,” informed sources said.

The IT teams have also conducted searches on the residence and hospital of the brother of the firm’s managing director in Kadapa. The teams were verifying the records and financial transactions of the manufacturing company that received contracts from AP and other states for supply of electrical goods.
