Hyderabad: HMWS&SB on Friday said that it would send tankers to clear the sewage at the Bai Maneckbai fire temple, at Tilak Road, Abids, where a drain has allegedly been blocked by a restaurant. Officials said this would continue till the matter between the two parties is settled.

Deccan Chronicle had reported the issue in the report ‘Zoroastrian fire temple suffers sewage blockage’ on Friday.

Temple officials said that Santosh Dhaba, a vegetarian restaurant, had gone in for building expansion on March 9, 2022, which led to the blocking of the drain with concrete. This resulted in the sewage flowing back to the temple.

HMWS&SB’s general manager Jan Shareef said, “The officials made a visit to the fire temple. The sewage line which is more than a century old has been blocked by Santosh Dhaba. Our officials interacted with GHMC officials to ensure there is an outcome.”

He said it was a matter between the two parties and had landed in court. “Till the matter is settled, we will be sending the sewage tankers.”
