AP records 2,918 Covid cases

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh has registered the lowest daily Covid-19 positive cases of 2,918, scaling up the overall tally to 7,86,050 cases, apart from 24 deaths during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,453.

State health authorities released their Coronavirus bulletin on Monday reporting that out of 61,330 samples tested during the last 24 hours, 2,918 individuals have tested positive. With this, out of the total of 71,27,533 samples tested so far in the state, 7,44,532 patients have been discharged after recovery, while 35,065 patients are still active with the virus and undergoing treatment.
Among the daily Covid-19 confirmed cases, East Godavari registered the highest 468 patients, followed by 447 in West Godavari, 380 in Chittoor, 333 in Guntur, 308 in Prakasam, 218 in Anantapur, 155 in Kadapa, 143 in Srikakulam, 120 in Visakhapatnam, 119 in Nellore, 117 in Krishna, 66 in Kurnool and 44 in Vizianagaram.

East Godavari continues to top the state by recording 1,10,560 cumulative confirmed Coron-avirus cases, followed by 79,578 in West Godavari, 74,035 in Chittoor, 62,687 in Anantapur, 62,681 in Guntur, 58,848 in Kurnool, 58,244 in Nellore, 56,890 in Prakasam, 53,926 in Visakhapatnam, 50,018 in Kadapa, 42,749 in Srikakulam, 38,224 in Vizianagaram, 34,715 in Krishna, 2,461 from other states and 434 from other countries.
The rate of recovery among Covid-19 patients has been good in East Godavari with 1,03,836 persons recovering, followed by 74,991 recoveries in West Godavari, 68,830 in Chittoor, 60,274 in Anantapur, 58,223 in Guntur, 57,450 in Kurnool, 56,757 in Nellore, 53,196 in Prakasam, 51,371 in Visakhapatnam, 46,983 in Kadapa, 41,072 in Srikakulam, 36,927 in Vizianagaram, 31,727 in Krishna, 2,461 from other states and 434 from other countries.

Among the daily deaths of Coronavirus patients, Chittoor, Guntur, Krishna and Visakhapa-tnam registered four deaths each, followed by three in Kadapa, two in East Godavari and one each in Nellore, Prakasam and West Godavari districts. Among cumulative death of Covid-19 infected patients, Chittoor topped with 745 overall deaths, followed by 588 each in East Godavari and Guntur, 556 in Prakasam, 537 in Anantapur, 528 in Krishna, 493 in Visakhapatnam, 482 in West Godavari, 480 in Kurnool, 479 in Nellore, 415 in Kadapa, 336 in Srikakulam and 226 in Vizianagaram.

The state health authorities have discharged 4,303 Covid-19 patients after recovery from various hospitals in the state during the last 24 hours.
