Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam (TD) president K. Atchannaidu on Tuesday condemned the house arrest of several party leaders across the state.

In a statement, Atchannaidu said that the TD leaders were visiting temples to pray for the release of their party chief, N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was arrested on false charges. He questioned why the TD leaders were being placed under house arrest.

Atchannaidu alleged that the police had been placing TD leaders under house arrest since Naidu's arrest. He asked why the state government was nervous about the presence of TD leaders and wondered whether they were afraid of being exposed for their illegal activities.

Atchannaidu warned that the TD would no longer tolerate such acts of the state government, especially at a time when elections are around the corner and Naidu is gaining popular support. He urged the government to stop subjecting TD leaders to house arrest.
