Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress MLAs’ inability to cash in on the embarrassment suffered by the LDF government on the M.K. Damodaran episode has triggered a fight between  the organization and the parliamentary party. The party feels that the MLAs should have used the opportunity  to expose the government while the parliamentary party blames the party for keeping mum on the issue.

KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran said the party will inquire why  Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala had not  given  any notice for adjournment motion on the issue in the Assembly.   “I don’t know why the issue was not issued.  I will hold talks with the Congress MLAs  why it was not raised in  the Congress Legislative Party first and then  in  the Assembly,”  said Mr Sudheeran.

Mr Sudheeran told reporters here that he would intervene in such issues in future much to the displeasure of the Chennithala camp. He alleged that the LDF government was working  with anti-people forces. “Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is protecting the anti-people forces,”  added Mr Sudheeran.

His  trusted lieutenant and former MLA T. N. Prathapan also criticised Mr Chennithala’s stand.  Mr K. Muraleedharan and Mr V. D. Satheeshan have also attacked him. Mr Muraleedharan had alleged that the Congress, including senior leaders,  had failed  to stage strikes, pointing fingers at Mr Chennithala.
