Reading empowers youth, says T P Ramakrishnan

Delivering the message of Reading Day to the children, the minister said it would encourage the youth to build a harmonious society.

KOZHIKODE: Labour and excise minister T.P. Ramakrishnan inaugurated the district-level Reading Week at E.M.S. Hall in Kunnathupalam on Sunday. Delivering the message of Reading Day to the children, the minister said it would encourage the youth to build a harmonious society.

“We must take this opportunity to celebrate and promote reading by younger children, and the responsibility is upon the schools to introduce more and more books to them,” he said. P.T.A. Rahim MLA presided over the programme organised by the District Information Office in association with P.N. Panicker Foundation, Deshasevini Library, Puthur and Ezhuthupura, Pantheerankavu. District panchayat president Babu Parasseri and Olavanna grama panchayat president Thankamani also spoke during the programme where several writers were honoured.
