Kottayam: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekaran has demanded the deployment of central forces in  Kannur to restore peace in the district. He was speaking to reporters after visiting the Ponkunnam police station which was attacked by the SFI-DYFI activists on Wednesday. “I will ask the Union home secretary to send central forces to Kannur where the CPM  is conducting the festival of murders in the villages when the school festival is taking place in the town,”  he said.

“Even the police officers are not safe. Four BJP activists were murdered in  two months after  mediation was held in the presence of the chief minister,” he said. “The police are supporting the blood game of the CPM and threatening the BJP members at Dharmadom where a BJP activist was  murdered. Many were forced to leave their houses,” he said. He also asked why the cultural activists were not speaking about  the CPM intolerance.
