President to visit Puttaparthi on November 22

The Chief Secretary reviewed the arrangements from the CS camp office, Vijayawada, on Saturday

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Secretary Dr K.S. Jawahar Reddy said President Droupadi Murmu would visit Puttaparthi, Sri Sathya Sai district, on November 22. He ordered the officials concerned to make elaborate arrangements for the President’s visit.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the arrangements from the CS camp office, Vijayawada, on Saturday through a video conference. He said the President would arrive at Puttaparthi from Bengaluru by Indian Air Force flight on November 22 at 12.30 pm.  She will reach Prasanthi Nilayam and participate in the 42nd graduation ceremony of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning Centre held there, he added.

Jawahar Reddy spoke to Sri Sathya Sai district collector Arun Babu and SP Madhava Reddy, who participated in a video conference and reviewed the measures being taken according to the protocols regarding the President’s visit. He also reviewed the provisions and other arrangements with DGP K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, who participated through a video link. Instructions have been issued on the arrangement of inviting arches and hoardings on both sides of the roads on the way of the President.

The Chief Secretary directed the Director of Medical Education (DME) to go to Puttaparthi on Tuesday and make appropriate arrangements in coordination with the district collector, SP and other officials. Also, state protocol director Y. Balasubrahmanyam, who participated in the meeting, said that the invitation cards, including the tour programme related to the President’s visit through the protocol department, should be ensured.

The Chief Secretary made it clear to the officials concerned that strict measures be taken for the success of the President’s visit.
