BITS Pilani's WILP Arm Awards Degrees to 7,514 Graduates on One Day

Hyderabad: A division of the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani on Sunday organised the country's marathon convocation for working professionals, where 7,514 individuals received their degrees.

They were from 26 diverse programmes, including 5,183 from MTech, 1,641 MBA, 620 BTech, and 70 from MSc.

The event, which was organised by BITS Pilani’s Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division, was the first of its kind in the country hosted by an institute in science, engineering and management.

Approximately, 900 participants attended the convocation in person at the Hyderabad campus, while thousands experienced a virtual graduation through Metaverse technology, offering a near-realistic and immersive environment.

Chief guest Dr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, founder chairman of Cyient, congratulated the graduates, and stressed on the significance of lifelong learning. Dr Kumar Mangalam Birla, the Chancellor of BITS Pilani, urged the graduates to dream big and make a difference in his special message.
