7th Pay Commission Approved by Karnataka CM

BENGALURU: The formation of 7th Pay Commission headed by retired Chief Secretary K. Sudhakar Rao has been approved by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and the Commission has been given six months to submit its recommendation.

The State Government has appointed retired IAS officer P.B. Ramamurthy, retired Principal Director, Department of Auditing and accounts Srikanth B Vanavalli as members and Joint Secretary, Department of Infrastructure Hepsiba Rani Korlapati as being made the member-secretary of the Panel.

A statement from the Chief Minister’s office stated “It will recommend keeping in view Fiscal responsibility and other financial obligations as per the 2022 guidelines.”

The Commission will go through everything such as the pay-scale of government employees, aided educational institutions and university non-teaching (excluding those who are drawing UGC/AICTE/ICR pay scale) parks and retirement facilities and submit a report to the State Government.
