HYDERABAD: Though the South Central Railway (SCR) on Saturday introduced special trains from Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda stations to reduce passenger rush, these special trains charge much higher fare than the regular ones. The fares for the special trains are at premium rates, which vary between 50 and 100 per cent more than the regular fare.

The special train from Secunderabad to Kolkata is scheduled to depart at 4.20 in the morning on Sunday. At the same time a special train between Kachiguda and Narsapur is scheduled to leave on Sunday at 11 pm.

The passengers question the railway authorities why they are introducing these trains where passengers end up spending more on travel. Despite introducing special trains, the railway authorities can start the cancelled trains, they point out.
