Dr Sagili Karunasagar, Scientist at IMD- Amaravati said slight relief was expected from the heat waves due to thunderstorms for five days caused by trough over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. However, the relief is temporary as a fresh (second) spell of heatwave conditions over parts of the state will commence after the storms, he added.

Rayalaseema region, which was not affected by the heatwave so far, will witness rise in the temperature and subsequent heatwave from next week onwards, Dr Karunasagar added.
