Calicut University to focus empowering differently-abled persons

KOZHIKODE: The Calicut University is set to launch a series of programmes to identify and encourage the  talents of differently abled,  according to  vice-chancellor Dr K. Muhammed Basheer. The community disability management and rehabilitation programme (CDMRP) launched by the  department of psychology  with the support of  the department of social justice to help the differently abled had  proved a success, he said. 

He was addressing an international seminar   organized by the department of lifelong learning and extension in association with  the council for research and management of learning disorders, institute of research in learning disability and AWH College of Education on the  CU campus on Friday. Psychology clinics are also functioning in different CU centres in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts, he added.  "All steps would be taken to make the campus fully  disabled- friendly,"  he  said.    Dr E. Manoj presided over the function.
