Expedite land acquisition, payment of compensation to oustees, officials told

Khammam: The state government has directed officials to speed up land acquisition and complete payment of compensation to oustees to proceed with the construction of various projects in the district.

Projects like the Sriramsagar third phase, opencast mines of the Singareni Colleries Company Limited, Sitarama lift irrigation and Buggavagu dam, the roads and buildings highway at Mujjugudem in Nelakondapalli mandal and laying of railway lines are being executed in the district.

It is found that land acquisition and payment of compensation has been affected by delays, which is  cascading into delays in the execution of projects.

The land acquisition for the SCCL open cast mine in Rejarla and Jagannathapuram in Sattupali mandal is not going progressing well. The payment of rehabilitation and reconstruction package by SCCL to the locals of Kommepalli has not commenced.

Land acquisition to the railway bridge at Mamillagudem in Khammam is a crucial one.
