PM, CM announce ex-gratia for Swapnalok Complex fire victims

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister expressed their grief at the fire disaster at the Swapnalok Complex here, which resulted in the death of six persons on Thursday. They also announced ex gratia payment to the families of each of the victims.

In his message, Prime Minister Modi said, “Pained by the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Swapnalok Complex, Secunderabad. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon.” He announced ex gratia of RS 2 lakh from the PM National Relief  Fund to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured.

Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the family of each of the deceased. He assured that the state government would extend all support to the families of the victims and survivors.

He instructed ministers Mohd Mahmood Ali and T. Srinivas Yadav to monitor the relief operations.  He directed the officials to extend quality treatment to all the injured in the fire accident.
