Adilabad: Junior doctors of RIMS (Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences) on Saturday announced that they were calling off their strike since the authorities of the medical institution promised them to consider their demands in connection with the incident that took place on the campus a few days ago. The medicos said that they would resume their strike if the authorities failed to uphold their demands. The junior doctors have been staging protests for the last two days demanding the state government suspend director Prof. Jai Singh Rathod alleging that he was involved in the attacks on the medicos.

Leaders of junior doctors told the media that they put forth 15 demands before the authorities including the deployment of a special security force for the college so that medicos feel secure, removal of Dr Kranthi Kumar who was involved in the attack on the students, issuance of students’ ID cards and the transparency in the inquiry.
