The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE), on Wednesday announced the schedule for admissions for the academic year 2020-21. As per the calendar, issuance of application forms and commencement of the first phase of admissions have started from September 16, and will go on till September 30. The board announced that online classes for first year intermediate courses will commence from September 18. The schedule for the second phase of admissions will be announced at a later date.

The admissions will be done on the basis of the Grade Point Average (GPA) and subject-wise grade point (GP), and not on any additional admission test, as per the guidelines. Furthermore, the candidates who want to seek admission on condonation of gap period have to obtain a certificate of local candidate/residential certificate for the gap period from the local Tehsildar.

The Board has informed students and parents to take admissions to affiliated colleges only, as per the list provided on the TSBIE official websites. This comes in view of the complaint against several private junior colleges for violation of fire safety guidelines.

The Board has suggested that even after the uncertainty over the operation of such colleges, there will not be a shortage of available seats for applicants this year.
