Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday closed proceedings in a petition seeking quashing of a molestation bid case against government pleader Dhanesh Mathew Manjooran.

When the case was taken up, police informed the court that the investigation has been completed and the charge sheet filed.

According to the court, a detailed report submitted by the investigating officer shows that after conducting investigation, final charge sheet was filed before the magistrate court for offence punishable under IPC section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) on August 16.

In the light of the filing of the final report, Justice Sunil Thomas closed the proceedings in the petition filed by Manjooran, "reserving the right of the petitioner to seek appropriate relief".

The high court had earlier declined to issue a stay order on police action against Manjooran in the case.

Manjooran was arrested on the charge of allegedly attempting to molest the woman on a city road when she was returning home here after work on July 14. Manjooran was allegedly apprehended by locals after the woman raised an alarm following the molestation bid.
