Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF and the LDF won six local body seats each in the by-polls to 12 seats held on Thursday. According to the state election commission, while the LDF bagged the Manidamkuzhi ward in Kanjirapally and Venmani West in Chenganur from UDF, the Kopparattu ward in Kandalloor in Alappuzha were bagged by the UDF from the LDF.

The wards won by the LDF were Tazhuthala in Adichanalloor and Koyivila in Thevalakara in Kollam, Kariykamattam in Pambadi and Manidumkuzhi in Kanjirapally in  Kottayam, Munderi at Kalapetta in Wayanad and Venmani West in Chenganoor block panchayat in Alappuzha. The UDF won in Kollamchinna,  Peruvallooor in Malappuram, Ramanthali central in Ramanthali and Kopparattu in Kandalloor in Kannur, Purakkad at Thikkodi in Kozhikode, Kalarikkal in Chertala south in Alappuzha and Tumarakkavu in Tirur.
