Two-day health forum in Uzbekistan introduces AYUSH

 HYDERABAD: A two-day Health Forum was jointly organised by the ministries of health of Uzbekistan and India at Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The forum decided to introduce Ayush medical education in Uzbekistan and more than 100 MoUs were signed by the government of Uzbekistan, the health ministry and medical institutions.

Minister of state for health Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, Uzbek health minister Dr Inayatova, Dr B. Divya S. Raj Reddy, official representative of the Uzbek health ministry to India, diplomats and representatives of Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai participated in the event.

Among those who signed the MoUs were hospitals like AIG, Yashoda, Apollo, SriSri Holistic, Rainbow, GSL from Hyderabad, Medanta, Fortis, Akash, Sarvodaya from Delhi and Mumbai. Pharma companies like Hetero, Dr Reddy's, Biofern were among the institutions which signed MoUs.

Dr Raj Reddy, director of Neo Institute of Medical Sciences, said, "Bilateral relations in the medical field between the two countries are improving a lot. Indian medical and Ayush ministers, the head of Medanta Hospital, MD of Neo Institute etc. have received medals from Uzbekistan. With the signing of MoUs, we are confident that the medical services sector in Uzbekistan will make further progress."
