All vacant posts will be filled, says CJI Ramana

CJI Ramana also said that he was trying to get clearance for two names, which were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegiums

Hyderabad: The Chief Justice of India, Justice N.V. Ramana, on Friday, said that he would fill up all vacant posts, which were pending for long years.

He asked also the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court to recommend eligible names for the remaining posts. However, he insisted that the recommended names should be from all sections of people to maintain social justice.

He also said that he was trying to get clearance for two names, which were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegiums.

Thanking Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for extending his cooperation to the judiciary, the Chief Justice of India observed that when the Central government and other state governments were attempting to retrench the government posts by bringing in contract employment, Telangana CM is creating more government posts, which included posts to the judiciary. “We are fortunate that for the last eight years, the CM has been so generous and has given whatever judiciary has asked for,” the CJI said.

Telangana High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, meanwhile, advised the judicial officers to play a proactive role in clearing piled up pending cases. He also cautioned them against the indiscipline of some junior officers.  

Supreme Court judge Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, Telangana High Court Judges and state law minister Indrakaran Reddy also participated in the meeting.

The Telangana High Court Bar Association,  Telangana State Bar Council collectively organised a programme to felicitate the Chief Justice of India.
