Vijayawada: AP chief secretary Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy has directed officials to strengthen the ghat road of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple on Indrakeeladri within two months.

Participating in a review meeting with officials on Wednesday, he underlined that strengthening of the ghat road must be done in a manner that it does not cause inconvenience to devotees.

Jawahar Reddy said sensors had been installed on Tirumala ghat road, which predicted the possibility of boulders falling. Traffic on the route would then be stopped. He asked officials to examine whether such a system could be used for the Indrakeeladri ghat road.

The chief secretary inquired about various works going on at the Durga temple, including elevated queue complex, multi-level vehicle parking system, restoration of Shivalayam and construction of Prasadam Potu as part of the master plan for Indrakeeladri.

Endowments commissioner S. Satyanarayana, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar and Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple executive officer K.S. Rama Rao participated in the meeting.
