Vizag-Vijayawada Vande Bharat train in 2 months

Vishakapatnam: The much anticipated Vande Bharat train starting from Visakhapatnam will be commenced within two months, Waltair railway divisional manager Anup Satpathy said here on Monday.

Satpathy told reporters that as per the tentative information, the train will be operated between Visakhapatnam and Tirupati or Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. However, possibilities will be more on Vizag-Vijayawada, he added.

Satpathy said the station redevelopment works would begin soon and the soil test for it was completed. There would be a few more platforms coming up in the station.

“The railway ministry wanted to make the Visakhapatnam railway station as a world class station at a cost of Rs 456 crore. The project will be completed within 36 months," Satpathy added.
