Traffic diversion tests patience of bus passengers, commuters

Vijayawada: Diversion of traffic from Gollapudi into the city has been causing inconvenience to passengers of buses coming from Hyderabad.

The duration of the journey has been extended by over an hour due to the diversions and now the buses are coming from Gollapudi to the city via CVR flyover, Ajithsingh Nagar, and Kedareswarapet.

The bus passengers are expressing their resentment due to the lengthier travel and extra time.

However, APSRTC regional manager Pinnamaeni Rama Rao said that decision on route diversion was taken after careful examination of the existing roads.

“The passengers are requested to bear with the inconvenience, till the construction of the flyover is complete,” the RM said and added that DCP (Traffic) Kranti Rana Tata and district collector B. Lakshmikantham inspected the areas prone to traffic jams.
