Coimbatore: Aiming entry into the Guinness Book of World Records, a yoga teacher is set to perform yoga continuously for 69 hours, concluding it on the International Yoga Day on June 21.

The attempt by V Gunasekaran titled "Longest Yoga Marathon (Male)" will commence at 5 pm on June 18 and end at 2 pm on June 21.

The existing record in this segment is held by a team in China, which had performed continuously for a little over 47 hours, the 45-year old yoga teacher said.

With the event spread over four days, the performer can take a break of five minutes every hour, during which he can take food, which will include fruits like apple and orange, he said.

During his 69-hour attempt, he will perform 200 yogasanas, Gunasekaran, who is teaching yoga to students of 40 schools in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Dindigul district for the last 10 years, said.
