KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode city  is on its way to becoming an IT destination in  the state and a Netherlands-based multinational company has started its developing centre at UL Cyber Park. The company, Runbook International, a system analysis and programme networking (SAP) partner, which develops advanced financial software products for its clients abroad, has preferred Kozhikode over other cities in the country seeing its growth potential.

Also its programme manager,  Rajeesh Maninchery, belongs to Kozhikode. “We had the option to take the company to any of the metro cities of the country, but since I belong to Kozhikode, I knew about its potential,”  he said. “Hence, I proposed to our heads in Netherlands about  having a branch in Kozhikode  after a detailed research,” he added.

“The company was attracted to Kozhikode due to the potential skilled manpower  here.  We have started with a 12-member team which will be expanded to 25 to 35 employees in  one year,”  Mr Rajeesh  said. The company aims at global research and development expansion and focuses on SAP HANA technologies and in-memory computing.

Kozhikode is making steady progress  in the IT sector and  IT professionals  working outside the state have come back to their native place  to settle down here. “We are in search of such people, who can do their best here with their expected salary and experience gained till date,”  Mr Rajeesh said.

The  company has conducted its  training programme for the employees  in Netherlands and is  searching for more talent in Kozhikode itself, thereby opening up the opportunity for IT aspirants to work in their native land.
