TSPSC leaks: Exams after Group-I in focus, more arrests likely

HYDERABAD: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the TSPSC question paper leak is focussing on candidates who appeared for entrance exams after the Group-I test in October 2022, with more arrests likely to be made shortly, sources said.

The SIT has arrested 27 people in connection with the case.

Investigators told Deccan Chronicle that questioning of the accused continues to reveal new information, raising suspicions that the question papers were leaked en masse. They said that the main accused, Pulidindi Praveen, obtained raw copies of question papers for 15 employment exams.

The police said that they had found evidence of leaks in the Group-I, assistant engineer and district accounts officer recruitment exam question papers, with many who purchased them also arrested.

Of the 15 papers that Praveen had accessed, 12 examinations were completed before the scam broke out in March. The police are validating the details of candidates who scored high marks, besides verifying their call data records and bank transactions.

“We are verifying all minute details and going deep if any suspicious activities are found in call records or bank transactions. We are also focussing on cash transactions, if any had taken place,” an investigator said.
