BJP launches Nirudyoga rally

HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday claimed that leaders fighting for the state’s youths were being arrested by the BRS, in the continued fallout from the TSPSC question paper leaks.

Addressing a gathering at the Ambedkar circle in Hanamkonda, he said the party was launching the ‘Nirudyoga’ march at Warangal as it was a historic place, with people like Telangana ideologue Prof. Jayashankar coming from here.

“I am giving word on the behalf of Orugallu Nirudyoga march that the first signature will be for filling up two lakh jobs which are lying vacant in government, after formation of BJP government in the state, irrespective of who becomes the Chief Minister,” he said.

Sanjay also took the opportunity to attack Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for his arrest from Karimnagar, where he was attending the 11-day rituals of his deceased mother-in-law.

“In the past, the government arrested TPCC chief Revanth Reddy when his daughter’s marriage was about to happen. There are no emotions and sentiments for the Chief Minister. The ‘Balagam’ of KCR is his daughter, his son and his nephew — that is why he is not ordering an inquiry into question paper leakage by a sitting judge. The ‘Balagam’ of BJP is the people of Telangana, which is we are fighting for you,” he said.

Sanjay said that the Chief Minister was betraying the youth by not allotting 80,000 jobs he had promised. “Though the Biswal committee put the figure of vacant jobs at 1.91 lakh, the BRS government did not fill them,” he said.

The BJP Telangana chief accused the Chief Minister of issuing job notifications during elections to deceive the youth. “The BJP government is not going to sit quietly seeing the BRS government committing several mistakes and indulging in corruption. It is definitely going to take action against the BRS government,” he said.

Demanding that Chandrashekar Rao tender an unconditional apology to the youth and give each affected aspirant '1 lakh due to paper leaks, Bandi Sanjay said another ‘nirudyoga’ march will be held in Mahbubnagar on April 21.

As the BJP’s march reached the police commissionerate, activists resorted to sloganeering and tried to seize control of the building in protest against Bandi Sanjay’s arrest earlier this month.

The situation remained tense as the police put up heavy resistance. The situation normalised after BJP leaders appealed to workers to resume the rally.
