 Hyderabad: Congress leaders paid rich tributes to Damodaram Sanjeevaiah, former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and former president of the AICC, on his 102nd birth anniversary on Tuesday.

Congress leaders led by former PCC president V. Hanumantha Rao, chairman of the Damodharam Sanjeeviah Trust, paid floral tributes at Sanjeevaiah’s statue near Fateh Maidan chowrasta and later at the samadhi at Sanjeevaiah Park and then at PCC Office, Gandhi Bhavan, Hyderabad

Speaking on the occasion, Rao recalled that Sanjeevaiah was the first Dalit CM of independent India and had served as Union minister. Within the party, as AICC president he had remained a dedicated Congress leader. Sanjeevaiah was the second CM of undivided AP.

Congress leaders including Khairatabad DCC president C. Rohin Reddy, R. Laxman Yadav, S.P. Kranthi Kumar, Kumar Rao and N. Preetham paid rich tributes.
