Visakhapatnam: Minister for Industries and IT Gudivada Amarnath said Opposition leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu would be solely responsible if any untoward incidents take place during the Amaravati farmers’ padayatra in north Andhra region.

Addressing a press conference in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, Amarnath said with the permission given by the AP High Court, Naidu should not go out and provoke people in the name of padayatra.

He said the state intelligence has information that the local people might revolt against the padayatra participants

“The people of north Andhra will not keep quiet if the Amaravati farmers offered prayers to harm the interest of the north Andhra region, the local people would revolt against them,’’ he said.

He said their party was vouching for all-round development of the state and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was right in thinking of making three capitals for equal development of all the regions.

Blaming the BJP for supporting the padayatra, Amarnath said the BJP in its Rayalaseema declaration on February 23, 2018, proposed Kurnool to have the state High Court.
