Hyderabad: 11-yr-old boy dies of electrocution while flying kites

Hyderabad: An 11-year-old boy died of electrocution after he came in contact with a live wire around 4 pm while flying a kite from a terrace of an apartment in Attapur here on Friday.

The victim, M. Tanishk, was with his friend while his elder brother M. Mohit (14) was flying another kite on the fourth floor terrace of Laxmi Vani Apartments, opposite their house in Attapur

Noticing Tanishk collapse suddenly, the others informed his parents. Police said he had come in contact with a live wire from an AC outdoor unit on the terrace.

His uncle K. Abishek rushed him to a private hospital where the doctor said that he had died of electrocution, said Attapur sub-inspector K. Lingam said.  

“We have registered a case of causing death due to negligence under 304 against Amarnath, owner of Flat No. 507, who did not fix a cover on the outdoor unit of the AC," Lingam said.

The victim’s body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.
