PM-MITRA Park: 1000 acres for Special Purpose Vehicle at Kalaburagi

Belagavi: Minister Shivanand S Patil, overseeing textiles, sugarcane development, and sugar and agricultural marketing, announced today during the Council session that the state government, with cabinet approval, will allocate 1000 acres of land in Kalaburagi at a nominal rate of Rs 1 per acre for a period of 99 years to the Special Purpose Vehicle to be set up under the PM- MITRA Park.

He was responding to a question raised by MLC Thippeswamy today.

Patil said that the Central Government has given its nod for the establishment of an international-level textile and readymade garment park in the state under the PM-MITRA Park. The park, covering 1000 acres, will be situated in various survey numbers of Kirangi, Nadisinnur, and Firozabad villages in Kalaburagi taluk of Kalaburagi district.

In addition to the mega park in Kalaburagi, plans are underway to establish textile parks at Karkala (Udupi district), Ranebennur (Haveri district), Raichur (Raichur district), Navalgund (Dharwad district), Guledagudda (Bagalkot district), and Kondlahalli (Chitradurga district) through public-private partnerships. Another private textile park focusing on jeans and apparels is proposed in Bellary.

The PM-MITRA Park scheme in Kalaburagi is set to receive a grant of Rs 500 crore from the central government to develop basic amenities in two phases. The state government will provide electricity and water at concessional rates to support textile units within the park, contributing to the growth of the textile industry and promoting economic development in the region.
