Can you name 224 constituencies in Karnataka? He can!

Bengaluru: There are politicians who have won the hearts of voters by remembering them by their first names. But can any of our politicos, even the seasoned ones, recall the names of even 50 constituencies leave alone the 224 in Karnataka? The answer is a big no. Here is a six-year-old wonder from Shivamogga who can do it with ease and put any aspiring politico to shame.

Indrajit  leaves you gasping for breath as he  starts with nipani, the first constituency on the ECI list and keeps reeling out the names  till the last one - Gundlupet in Chamarajnagar.  Indrajit is the son of Shivakumar, a school teacher and Asha, a homemaker. "My son enjoys such stimulating brain games. A few days back, as a fun game, I started telling him the names of constituencies. He could recall all the names in a few days,” Mr Shivakumar said.

Acknowledging his rare feat, Shivamogga DC, M. Lokesh has made him the poll icon for the entire district just like cricket idol Rahul Dravid is the icon for the state. "He is a role model for all of us. He recounts the names without any mistake. He is inspirational, so we made him the poll icon. After seeing him, people should come to the polling booth and vote," Mr Lokesh said. A video of Indrajit proving his genius is  on the Facebook page of the Shivamogga DC and has become a hit now.
