3 students from Malabar killed in Dubai mishap
According to those injured in the accident, the three died on the spot.
KOZHIKODE: Three students from various places in Malabar were killed in an accident near Al Madam, Dubai, on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as Ashmid, 19, son of Ashraf of Nadapuram in Kozhikode, Shifam Mustafa, 19, son of Mustafa of Panoor in Kannur, and Mohammed Sunoon, 19, of Feroke in Kozhikode.
All the victims, students of Middlesex University in Dubai, were returning after visiting their friends’ home in Al Madam when the accident happened. According to those injured in the accident, the three died on the spot.
Two of their classmates who were in the car sustained injuries and are being treated in hospital. Ashmid’s father Ashraf has been running a restaurant in Dubai. His mother is Hajira. He has three brothers, Arshad, Afzal and Ajwad, and a sister Fathima.
The mishap occurred when the family was back in the state for vacation. Ashmid had returned to Sharjah a week ago for the exams, relatives said.
