IITH collaborated with Indian Navy/ WESEE

HYDERABAD: The Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) has joined hands with the Indian Navy’s Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE) to make its research and academics focused towards national security.

To this end, IIT-H Director Prof. B.S. Murty signed a memorandum of understanding with Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani, Chief of Materials, of the Indian Navy.

The project being steered by WESEE aims to collaborate with IIT-H on innovative and pioneering projects related to contemporary and emerging technologies in the maritime domain, according to a statement.

 Prof. Sumohana S. Channappayya, Faculty in-charge, TRP, said the establishment of the Co-Developmental Technology Innovation Centre (CTIC) at IIT-H’s Technology Research Park (TRP) was a crucial first step for the engagement.

Prof. Murty said he was hopeful that it would nurture a spirit of nation building on the campus and lead to top-notch and futuristic innovations."
