CS urges officials to make a success of ‘Kanti Velugu’ second phase

Chief secretary A. Santhi Kumari held a teleconference with district collectors to review the measures that were being taken for the successful implementation of the programme.

Hyderabad: Chief secretary A. Santhi Kumari on Friday directed district collectors to successfully implement the second phase of ‘Kanti Velugu’ programme, which is to be launched by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in Khammam on January 18.

As part of the programme, apart from free eye testing camps, they will perform surgeries and provide spectacles free of cost.

The CS held a teleconference with district collectors to review the measures that were being taken for the successful implementation of the programme. She informed that around 15 lakh spectacles have been dispatched to all the primary health centres and also those in urban areas.

Santhi Kumari sought awareness campaigns in order to educate people about the benefits of the programme.

Health and family welfare secretary Rizvi and commissioner Sweta Mohanty, director municipal administration Satyanarayana and other officials attended the teleconference.
