 Hyderabad: Nizam College staff and students celebrated Bonalu on Tuesday on its campus. The Principal, Prof. B. Bhima, told the media that the college had produced many great personalities; one of them, minister K.T. Rama Rao, extended Rs 25 crore for several development projects.

Prof. Bhima urged the state government to release the arrears of Rs 14 crore of stipend which is due. He said that going by demand, Nizam College had increased the number of seats from 30 to 45 in the Pharma Informatics course and in Microbiology; and from 30 to 60 in BSc (Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science), BSc (Mathematics, Electronics & Computer Science) and BSc MChCs.

He said that in the civil services exams, 200 alumni had got ranks while others had secured seats in the IITs. He said the college had organised programme on self-defence for girls.
