VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday offered ₹1 lakh to a woman in Visakhapatnam, whose son has been suffering from congenital heart disease.

Reports said Vanapalli Parvathi approached the CM, who had been returning after inaugurating the cancer block at Apollo Hospital on Arilova Road. She explained to him about the plight of her seven-year-old son Charan Sai Manikantha, who has been suffering from heart disease as well as sickle cell anaemia.

Jagan Mohan Reddy immediately responded to her plea, announcing ₹1 lakh for treatment. He asked collector Dr. A. Mallikarujuna to hand over the cheque to her.

Joint collector K.S. Viswanathan took the cheque and handed it over to Parvathi at her residence in Arilova.
