Kerala\'s COVID cases near one lakh mark

The state has so far reported 99,266 cases of which 72,578 have recovered. The number of active cases is 26,229

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Thursday reported 3349 new cases of Covid - 19 even as 1657 persons got cured from infection.

The state reported 3000 plus cases for the third consecutive day.

Of the new cases, 3058 contracted the infection through contact, source of infection among 266 persons is yet to be known, 30 came from abroad, 165 from other states and 72 health workers also tested positive.

The state has so far reported 99,266 cases of which 72,578 have recovered. The number of active cases is 26,229.

Thiruvananthapuram district reported the highest number of  cases at 558, Malappuram 330, Thrissur 300, Kannur - 276, Alappuzha 267, Kollam 244, Pathamahitaa 135.

The state recorded 12 more deaths on Thursday taking the toll to 396.

At present 2.04 lakh persons are under surveillance of which 1.84 lakh are under home/institutional quarantine.
