AP Home Minister Seeks Restoration of Train Stoppages at Kovvur

Vijaywada: AP home minister Taneti Vanita has asked union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to restore stoppage of trains at Kovvur railway station, like they did before the lockdown during Coronavirus pandemic.

The home minister informed Nirmala Sitharaman that after the Covid pandemic, trains have not started stopping at Kovvur, due to which passengers going to Hyderabad, Madras, Bangalore and Tirupati are facing difficulties. They have to travel all the way to Rajamahendravaram to board the trains.

Vanitha requested the union finance minister to take up the matter with the union minister for railways and resolve the problem.

Among the trains whose stoppage at Kovvur is to be restored are Tirumala Express (17488, 17487), Sarkar Express (17644, 17643), Bokaro Express (13351, 13352), Kakinada-Tirupati Express (17250, 17249), Simhadri Express (17240, 17239), Tirupati-Puri Express (17479, 17480), Machilipatnam-Visakhapatnam Express (17220, 17219), Rayagada-Guntur Express (17244, 17243) and Bilaspur Express (17482, 17481).
