Gunadala Mary centenary begins on grand note
Vijayawada: Gunadala Mary Matha centenary celebrations began on a grand note at the Gunadala Temple on Saturday.
On the occasion, Bishop T. Joseph Raja Rao and monsignor M. Prasad hoisted the flag launched the centenary celebrations. White doves were released on the occasion.
A huge procession with Mother Mary’s statue marked the occasion.
Bishop Raja Rao said Lourdes Mary has devotees across the world who seek blessings from Her.
Monsignor Prasad recalled services of previous bishops to the church, including Bishop Grasi Amdors Debartista, Tumma Joseph, M. Jogi, M. Prakash, and the present Bishop Raja Rao.
Later, church authorities distributed food was to thousands of devotees present on the occasion.
Rector Fr. Y. William Jaya Raju, SSC director Fr. T. Sunil Raju, Fr. D. Vijaya Kumar, Fr. P. Thomas, Fr. K. Mariyanna and M. Chinnappa were among those present.
