Jagan government is employees-friendly, claims MLA

VIJAYAWADA: Former minister Perni Venkataramaiah MLA has said the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government is employees-friendly and doing good to government employees by cancelling the Contributory Pension Scheme. “It has also appointed the 12th PRC for the revision of employees’ wages,” he said.

The MLA referred to an allegation from TD leader Nara Lokesh that YSRC activists threw rotten eggs on him, and said  it was Lokesh's partymen who threw an egg in anger when Lokesh did not give a chance to them to take a selfie.

He asked whether Lokesh needed more security cover as he did not ever win an election even of a sarpanch. “It is strange that the party leaders met the governor with a plea that Lokesh required more security.

The MLA said Jagan Mohan Reddy had, during his padayatra before the last elections, heard about the problems of CPS employees and he gave a promise in Machilipatnam that he would cancel the CPS system when he formed the government. “CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has kept his word and decided to cancel the CPS and implement the Guaranteed Pension Scheme (GPS).

The former minister said that Nara Chandrababu Naidu as CM did not resolve the CPS issue. “Naidu introduced contract, outsourcing and CPS system against the regular system and is now shedding crocodile tears,” he said.

Asking why Naidu did not regularise the contract employees, the MLA recalled that Chandrababu had promised in the TD election manifesto that all the contract employees would be regularized but he did not do that during his five-year term.

“Jagan Mohan Reddy regularised more than 10,000 contract employees,” he claimed.

Employees of the Vaidya Vidhana Parishad were taken into government service, “which is going to help 13,000 of them, and they would get a monthly salary directly from the government,” he said.
