University starts civil service coaching in Malayalam
The university has identified 60 students for the coaching programme.
MALAPPURAM: In an attempt to equip the students to write the civil services examinations in Malayalam language, the Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University has launched a special coaching for its students with a three-day foundation camp that began on the university campus on Wednesday. The sessions are led by top IAS officers in the state. The university has identified 60 students for the coaching programme. Former DGP Alexander Jacob is the course director.
“The misconceptions among the aspirants regarding the selection of Malayalam medium for the civil service exam should be corrected. The use of local language would only help to improve your performance in the exams and interview,” said former bureaucrat and vice-chancellor of the university Dr. K Jayakumar. Building confidence is the first step, he added.
The university has plans to conduct more such camps in the coming months. Kozhikode district collector N. Prashanth, Tirur sub-collector Dr. Adila Abdullam and Pathanamthitta district collector Hari Kishor led various sessions on the second day of the camp.
