Minister Hands Over Financial Help to Cyclone Victims

Vijayawada: Housing minister Jogi Ramesh handed over financial aid to cyclone-hit families at Bantumilli and Kruthivennu mandals of Krishna district at the rescue camp set up at the MPDO offices on Thursday. 

The minister gave Rs.72,000 to 44 families of Kruthivennu mandal and Rs.1,33,500 to 59 families of Bantumilli mandal. These families had been evacuated to the MPDO offices after water entered their houses following heavy rains. They were provided food, drinking water and accommodation.

After water receded, the minister handed over the financial relief to families before they returned to their homes, as instructed by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Kruthivennu ZPTC M. Ratnakumari, MPP Kunasani Prasad, Bantumilli MPP Velivela Chinababu, ZPTC Malishetty Venkataratnam, local public representatives and mandal officials were among those present.
