Cusat SOE students present Dhishna-2017
All the seven branches of SOE put their best foot forward to showcase a wide variety of technical and non technical events.
KOCHI: Dhishna 2017, the techno-cultural extravaganza, presented by the School of Engineering (SOE) of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) concluded here on Saturday. All the seven branches of SOE put their best foot forward to showcase a wide variety of technical and non technical events. The students of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering showcased a variety of modern and innovative ideas of engineering applications that could be transformed into reality. ‘Srishti’, an exhibition by the civil engineering students and ‘Mechanica’ by mechanical engineering students won the appreciation of all visitors. Cassini-creativity with lights by the division of electrical engineering was the star attraction. Another major attraction of the fest was ‘Gold Rush’ - a modern day treasure hunt, powered by the futuristic application of augmented reality conducted by the division of Information Technology.
‘Code face-off’' a coding competition by the division of computer science received many footfalls. “Paper bridge” made of newspapers which could carry five people at a time received a good response. Other events included fire drill by the division of safety and fire engineering, workshops and technical talks on current engineering technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and virtual reality were also held. The event ‘Arcs of Tesla’ conducted by the electrical division was one of the striking events of the fest. It is a life-sized work model of the legendary tesla coil. The Chakra-Automobile show by the mechanical engineering division, Robowar by electronics engineering, survey treasure hunt and bridge competition by civil engineering department and a lecture by Johnson Jose, member, Kerala Riders Federation, added glitter on the last day.
