2.25 lakh candidates take test for 554 SI posts in Telangana

HYDERABAD: The police recruitment board said 2.25 lakh candidates appeared for the written test for the selection of 554 stipendiary cadet trainee (SCT) sub-inspectors (SIs) on Sunday across the state.

Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) chairman V.V. Srinivasa Rao said 2,25,759 candidates attended the preliminary written test adding it conducted smoothly by abiding by all norms and regulations, as per the planned schedule. He said 91.32 per cent of applicants appeared for the test.

"Biometric attendance of the candidates, including digital fingerprints and digital photographs, were captured during the test to facilitate the conduct of further process. The preliminary key for the test will be made available on the official website: www.tslprb.in within a few days," Srinivasa Rao said.

The board chairman stated that the TSLPRB issued notification for direct recruitment of 554 vacancies of SCT SI civil and/or equivalent posts. A total number of 2,47,217 candidates applied for the recruitment. The test was conducted in 503 examination centres located in and around Hyderabad and 35 other towns throughout the state.
