Techie dies of heart attack while playing cricket

 Hyderabad: A 34-year-old software employee died of a heart attack while playing cricket with his friends at KCR Stadium in Gattupally suburbs of Maheshwaram mandal in Rangareddy district.

The police identified the techie as Marripudi Manikantha, who felt pain in his left arm and chest while bowling.

His friends rushed him to a private hospital in Maheshwaram, but he collapsed in the car and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Manikantha was a native of Mallavaram village of Maddipadu mandal in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, his brother M. Venkatesh said. “He was staying in a hostel at KPHB in the city and used to play cricket with friends on weekends,” he said

He said he was apprised about his brother’s demise by another friend, Yashwant, who had accompanied the techie to play cricket.

On a complaint lodged by Venkatesh, the police registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174 of the CrPC and shifted Manikantha's body to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem examination.
