Bengaluru: A private bus crashed into three people, including a 38-year-old pedestrian who died on spot. The three were standing near a shop on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway near Vaderahalli on Sunday morning in Ramanagara traffic police station limits when the accident occurred.

The deceased, Krishnappa from Vaderahalli, was standing on the roadside with his eight-year-old son and another man when the bus ran over them. The young boy and the other man escaped with minor injuries, while Krishnappa died on the spot due to severe head injuries. The two injured are being treated at a hospital.

The bus driver was trying to overtake a van but lost control of the vehicle. To avoid a collision, he swerved right and the bus jumped over the divider before killingKrishnappa on the other side of the road.

Villagers vandalised the bus, staged a protest and blocked the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway for some time. Ramanagara police came to the spot and cleared the road for vehicular movement.

The Ramanagara traffic police have arrested the bus driver and seized the bus.
In another accident, a 28-year-old pedestrian was knocked down by a drunk car driver, who lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a divider before killing the pedestrian.

The deceased, Ramesh, was a resident of Vijayapura and worked as a car driver. Ramesh was crossing the road near the Peenya Metro station when the car rammed into the divider and knocked him down. He died on the spot because of severe head injuries. The car driver, Lava B.K., escaped with minor injuries and has been admitted to a hospital.

Lava had returned from Madikeri and dropped his family at home in T. Dasarahalli on Saturday night. He was on his way to meet his friend when the accident occurred. The Peenya traffic police have registered a case against the drunk driver and sent the body for postmortem.
